The Ningde Nuclear Power Project aims to construct 6 million kilowatt nuclear power units in two phases, making it the first nuclear power plant to be initiated and operationalized in Fujian Province.
Of these, Units 5 and 6 were approved by the state on July 31, 2023, and will utilize China's independent third-generation nuclear power technology "Hualong One". Each unit is expected to generate nearly 10 billion KWH per year, which can meet the annual electricity demand of one million people.
