The embassy subsequently contacted three reporters from Xinhua News Agency and learned that they have also acquired bulletproof vests.

Central Television (CCTV) and Xinhua News Agency's reporter offices are very close to the commercial district, where conflicts and bloodshed can erupt at any moment, causing the embassy great concern about their safety," said Yao Wen, the director of the news department at the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, in a morning briefing to reporters.

"CCTV has two female reporters, Zhang Juan and Zhang Meng. Yesterday, they reported to the embassy over the phone, informing that a Thai photographer was injured. He accidentally got scratched by glass while evading gunfire, fortunately without serious injuries," Yao Wen explained.

"The two female reporters navigate through the gunfire every day, truly causing worry. We repeatedly remind them to prioritize safety," Yao Wen told reporters. CCTV reporters have purchased the "essential gear for outings" – steel helmets and bulletproof vests. They are fully equipped before venturing outside.

The embassy subsequently contacted three reporters from Xinhua News Agency and learned that they have also acquired bulletproof vests. Currently, the embassy, CCTV, and Xinhua News Agency have agreed to maintain constant communication. "No matter how busy everyone is, it is crucial to regularly make phone calls. Everyone's safety is the top priority," Yao Wen emphasized.
